Hey! This is me in the midst of some city lights.
One thing about me is that I live in two places, London and Metzingen. Usually, it`s about 8 weeks in the UK and 6 weeks in Germany. I often think I`m just so lucky to live now of all times and not before the internet and digital photography were invented because living in two countries would have been way more difficult without being able to market your business online.
As you may have guessed I love photography. Whenever someone shows pictures I`m all interested and I also love revisiting my pictures – looking at photographs is such a happy maker for me. Therefore, I photograph stories pretty much constantly and I usually have a camera on me. One of my favourite parts of the day is opening my laptop to import and look through the photos I`ve taken during the day.
Photo Stories
My professional photography career started as a photojournalist freelancing for local magazines. I still photograph for magazines and publications now and then. Meanwhile, I have specialized in business photography because I always get excited about business stories. And emotional visual storytelling is so important for businesses small or large. I have a huge variety of clients – shop owners and small businesses, solo- entrepreneurs, and companies of all sorts of industries.
I also do photo stories for private clients. For them I do photobooks and wall art. Because I want the people I photograph to have a photo experience that will last, I have thought about a special concept for my private clients: I don`t want to add to their digital pile of files that are waiting to be printed sometime – residing on a to-do list. Instead, I want to provide them with the final products of a photo experience: physical prints, photo books, and wall art to be truly enjoyed in years to come.
Freeze Time
Photography makes moments stay with us and it can freeze time. Time is constantly on the move, and we often struggle to keep up. Yet we can help us to the illusion of making it slow down or stop for a moment while we take a picture.
Also, taking pictures of what is there reminds me to appreciate this moment in time. Especially because I know that in hindsight this moment will be precious. I`m sure you have had these moments when you looked at pictures of years ago and thought: “Oh wow, how pretty and young was I – how could I not have seen that then?! And hey, there`s Sandra – I do miss her – let`s call her tonight… Ah and see this was in the kitchen in our first flat – how I loved our late cooking nights while that Michael Jackson Album was playing on repeat…”
See the opportunities
Photographs are reminders of what`s important and what makes us feel alive. They remind us of how far we`ve come, and also that God has provided us with so many opportunities and beauty around us. It`s all there now. We don`t need to wait – and we must not wait – for money, other circumstances, different looks, or whatever we tell ourselves that is missing. It`s not the destination but it`s the journey that makes a life. Stories are surrounding us every day, and they are waiting to be seen, noticed, and recorded.

Hey! Das bin ich inmitten von Lichtern in der Stadt,
Ich lebe an zwei Orten, London und Metzingen. Normalerweise bin ich gerade im Wechsel ungefähr acht Wochen in England und sechs Wochen in Deutschland. Ich denke oft, dass ich so ein Glück habe, dass ich gerade jetzt lebe – in einer Zeit, in der es Internet und digitale Fotografie gibt. Denn in zwei Ländern zu leben, wäre früher sicherlich noch viel schwieriger gewesen, als es noch nicht die Möglichkeit gab, sein Business online zu vermarkten.
Wie du bestimmt schon vermutet hast, liebe ich Fotografie. Wenn jemand Bilder zeigt, bin ich immer sofort interessiert und ich mag es auch meine eigenen Bilder immer wieder anzuschauen – Fotos schauen macht mich immer glücklich. Deswegen fotografiere ich eigentlich dauernd Fotostories und ich habe so ziemlich immer eine Kamera bei mir. Einer meiner Lieblingsmomente des Tages ist der, wenn ich abends meinen Laptop öffne und meine Bilder vom Tag hochlade und anschaue.
Foto Stories
Meine professionelle Karriere als Fotografin begann als freiberufliche Fotojournalistin für lokale Magazine. Nach wie vor fotografiere ich immer wieder für Magazine und Zeitungen. Mittlerweile habe ich mich auf Business Fotografie spezialisiert, da ich Business Stories immer spannend finde. Und gefühlsbetontes Storytelling in Bildern und Video ist so wichtig für jedes Business, klein oder groß. Ich habe eine ziemlich große Bandbreite an Kunden – Ladenbesitzer, Einzel- und Kleinunternehmer, Firmen aller möglicher Branchen, …
Ich fotografiere auch Fotostories für Privatkunden. Für sie mache ich Fotobücher und Wandkunst. Die Leute, die ich fotografiere, sollen ein bleibendes Fotoerlebnis haben, deswegen habe ich mir ein besonders Konzept für Privatkunden überlegt: Ich möchte ihren Berg an digitalen Dateien, der auf ihrer To-Do-Liste darauf wartet, gedruckt zu werden, nicht noch größer machen. Stattdessen möchte ich ihnen das Endprodukt einer Fotosession liefern: Fotografien zum Anfassen, Fotobücher und Wandkunst, über die sie sich noch viele Jahre freuen können.
Zeit einfrieren
Fotografie lässt Momente bei uns bleiben und die Zeit einfrieren. Die Zeit läuft immer weiter und wir haben oft Schwierigkeiten mitzuhalten. Und doch kann es uns so vorkommen, dass die Zeit kurz für uns stehenbleibt, während wir ein Foto machen.
Außerdem erinnert mich das Fotografieren daran, das zu schätzen, was gerade eben da ist. Vor allem, weil ich weiß, dass es rückblickend wertvoll sein wird. Bestimmt kennst du auch diese Momente, wenn du Fotografien von vor Jahren anschaust und denkst: „Oh wow, wie hübsch und jung ich war – wie kann ich das damals nicht gesehen haben?! Und hey, da ist Sandra – ich vermisse sie – lass sie uns später anrufen… Ah und schau, das war in der Küche unserer ersten Wohnung – wie habe ich unsere späten Kochabende geliebt, während das Michael Jackson Album rauf und runter lief…“
Möglichkeiten sehen
Fotografien erinnern uns daran, was wichtig ist und was uns das Gefühl gibt, lebendig zu sein. Sie machen uns klar, wie weit wir gekommen sind und dass Gott uns mit so vielen Möglichkeiten und so viel Schönheit um uns herum versorgt hat. Es ist alles da -jetzt. Wir brauchen nicht zu warten – und wir dürfen auch nicht warten, bis wir viel Geld, andere Umstände, ein besseres Aussehen haben, oder was wir uns eben einreden, dass es uns fehlt. Es ist nicht das Ziel, sondern die Reise, die ein Leben ausmacht. Stories umgeben uns jeden Tag und sie warten darauf gesehen und aufgezeichnet zu werden.
