End of Summer

“The tans will fade but the memories will last forever.”

“End of summer” I typed in my phone this morning. We had one more glorious warm day in London. When sitting in the sun outside the Pavilion Bakery in Victoria Park early this morning, sipping my builder`s tea and savouring my turmeric bun, I came across this quote on my phone: The tans will fade but the memories will last forever. Summer has officially left – two days ago was the beginning of autumn and the air has been smelling like autumn for a while now. Also, the light has changed, have you noticed? It`s softer and has a warmer glow.

Summer is leaving but memories are here to stay

The end of summer always feels bittersweet to me. It`s my favourite time of the year. While I can`t believe summer is over already, I soak up every sunbeam that autumn has to offer. That`s the beauty of autumn: We truly enjoy and cherish every sunny and warm day because we know winter is going to be here before long. And we try to make as many memories as possible while we can walk around in a T-shirt. And this way, we create the best memories: knowing that time is limited and most valuable. Knowing that it`s best enjoyed doing one thing at a time, paying attention to all that`s there now. (And in my case preferably with a camera at hand.)

PS: Memories are best printed on fine art paper – in a photo book or as artwork to go on your wall.
