Before a photo session, I usually research the location. If possible I go there to find nice spots and to map out a nice route for us. I actually look out for the presence of wonder. Preferably, I go at the same time of the day as the photo session to see how the light is at that time and I take some test photos. Maybe there are nice shops and coffee places on the way where we could stop by, maybe there`s a market – I want us to have a nice time. Because time and real experiences are what make a photo valuable. Nice places make us slow down and take in the presence of wonder. Having been happy makes us like our picture. And light adds mood, feeling, and atmosphere.
