Following my own advice (“you need to post pictures of yourself as a business person”) I`m posting something about me, a photographer in East London: I love photography (obviously as I`m a photographer) – it`s one of my favourite things of all time and I`m beyond grateful that God gave me my way of seeing stuff. It`s such a happy maker for me. Therefore, I have my camera on me most of the time. I`m pretty lousy in maths and numbers though – my talents are clearly 100 percent on the artsy side.
Here are some more happy makers of mine: Reading well-written novels, Chai Latte (especially the one from the Allotment Kitchen at Stepney City Farm), cycling around without a schedule, listening to the “Enjoying everyday life” podcast by Joyce Meyer while going for a walk, and listening to “Happier with Gretchen Rubin” while tidying, foggy weather, the sight of a pretty coffee shop, the seaside, treasure-hunting in Charity Shops and car boot sales.
I live both in London and in Metzingen /Germany – usually, I swap places every 8 weeks or so. My boyfriend Richard is from East London, and we met here while I was interning as a fashion student at fashion designer Giles Deacon when he still had his studio in the Truman Brewery. (Richard works for the Truman Brewery.) I hardly dare say it but this was 10 years ago when we first met. It certainly feels like “recently” to me and I don`t feel as old as this sounds.
London
Brick Lane and Shoreditch are still one of my favourite places in the city and on this planet. Other places I love in London are: De Beauvoir Town and The De Beauvoir Deli Café, Victoria Park and the Pavillion Bakery, Broadway Market and 69 Boutique, The Sunday Flower Market on Columbia Road, Highgate Village, Hampstead Heath (especially the Charity Shops), Richmond and The Petersham Nurseries, the Charity Shops near Angel Station, the Antique Market on Covent Garden, Custom House Library in our neighbourhood and Custom House in general because that`s where we live.

Mit diesem Post folge ich meinem eigenen Rat (“als Geschäftsfrau oder -mann solltest du unbedingt Bilder von dir selbst posten”) und poste etwas über mich: Ich liebe Fotografie (offensichtlich, den ich bin Fotografin) – es ist eins meiner liebsten Dinge aller Zeiten und ich bin so dankbar, dass Gott mir meine Art zu sehen gegeben hat. Das ist so ein großer Glücklichmacher für mich. Deshalb trage ich meinstens meine Kamera mit mir herum. Ich bin dafür ziemlich schlecht in Mathe und mit Zahlen – meine Talente sind klar zu hundert Prozent auf der künstlerischen Seite.
Hier sind noch ein paar Dinge, die ich mag: Gut geschriebene Romane lesen, Chai Latte (vor allem der vom Café der Stepney City Farm in London), mit dem Fahrrad herumfahren, spazieren gehen und dabei den „Enjoying everyday life“ Podcast von Joyce Meier hören, oder den „Happier with Gretchen Rubin“ Podcast beim Aufräumen. Nebel, ein hübsches Café, Meer, Schatzsuche in Second Hand Shops und auf Flohmärkten.
Metzingen & London
Ich wohne sowohl in Metzingen/Deutschland und in London – normalerweise wechsle ich so alle acht Wochen. Mein Freund Richard ist Londoner und wir haben uns hier kennengelernt, als ich als Modestudentin bei Giles Deacon war, als er noch sein Studio in der Truman Brewery hatte. (Richard arbeitet für die Truman Brewery, ein Gebäudekomplex auf der Brick Lane in East London). Ich traue es mich kaum zu schreiben, aber das war vor zehn Jahren, als wir uns zum ersten Mal getroffen haben. Für mich fühlt es sich an wie „neulich“ und ich fühle mich nicht so alt wie es klingt.
Brick Lane und Shoreditch gehören nach wie vor zu meinen liebsten Orten der Stadt und dieser schönen Erde. Andere Orte, die ich in London mag, sind: De Beauvoir Town und das De Beauvoir Deli Café, Broadway Market und die 69 Boutique, der Blumenmarkt sonntags auf Columbia Road, Highgate Village, Hampstead Heath (vor allem die Charitiy Shops), der Antikmarkt in Covent Garden, Custom House Bibliothek in unserer Nachbarschaft – und überhaupt Custom House im Allgemeinen wo wir wohnen.
