Wear a Smile

I love looking at photos of genuinely smiling people, don’t you? These pictures have got so much energy and when looking at them you feel like smiling, too. For the girls of @herzstaerkend it seemed easy to relax in front of the camera and smile wholeheartedly without tension. But I remember when I was a kid and took my camera to family events some family members got really uncomfortable when being photographed. When you feel uncomfortable it gets difficult to smile bright. By understanding where this discomfort may come from we may be able to free up our smiles:)

Maybe we are worried about judging ourselves when we see the photograph later. And I think
this is often the real challenge to tackle. We can be so hard on ourselves and tend to forget about
the fact that God equipped us with such great blessings: Eyes to see our surroundings in our very unique way. A nose to breathe in the scent of the summer. And a mouth to spread compliments and happiness – and encourage others with our smile. Every part of our body has an important purpose and wants to be appreciated for it.
Kindness starts with having a kind view on ourselves. Seeing ourselves with friendly forgiving eyes can be practiced. By the way, it`s also a good practice to not take ourselves too seriously. The more often we see ourselves in photographs the easier it gets and the more familiar we become with how we look in pictures. When you look at a photograph of yours and notice that you are becoming
judgemental and that you start to talk yourself down, tell yourself to stop and look at yourself with interested eyes of an explorer: Every photograph of us teaches us something about ourselves.
Perhaps, that you`ve got the same way of standing like your mom, or that your nose looks similar to your granddads.
We have this one body in this one life, and we can use photographs as our teachers to practice
appreciate it.
